Playing: At Tokyo in Tulsa in June, I made a few new friends (during a demo game of Werewolf: the Forsaken, no less) and we've recently been getting together everyone in a while for gaming nights. (They're in OKC, or I'd probably be a weekly thing. [Le sigh.]) We've done two different sessions of Gamma World so far, which were pretty good times for everyone. In a few weeks, I'm going up there for the weekend and after we hang out at Izumicon for a day, we're going to spend the other day playing Scion. I am looking forward to it, since all the other Scion games I've been involved in fell apart on the runway.
Running: With Halloween right around the corner, I felt like running something involving zombies, so I volunteered to do a one-shot of Unhallowed Metropolis for anyone who was interested. My friends that I game with online said it sounded like fun, so I'm making up some pregens and planning a suitably gothic scenario for the night before Halloween.
Wanting to Play: Oh geez. This is a big list. Of course, it's always a big list.
- Right at the top of the list is Exalted. The various threads on RPG.Net have me wanting to play a Solar, an Infernal, and an Alchemical all at once. I imagine it'll only get worse when the errata comes out for Lunars.
- I wouldn't mind getting to play in a Vampire game, although I have the feeling that if anything, I'll be the one running it once I get my copy of V20.
- Legend of the 5 Rings 4th edition. It's gorgeous and atmospheric and has a well-tuned system.
- Oh god, so many games. Monsters and other Childish Things, Wu Xing: the Ninja Crusade, Star Wars SE...I need to stop reading books, really.
- FantasyCraft is the big one. I've been a pretty big fan of Crafty Games since the second edition of Spycraft, and FantasyCraft is probably my favorite iteration of the 3.x mechanics ever. I just haven't been able to do anything with it yet. I want to change that.
- Monsters and other Childish Things is the other one. I just love the tone of the writing in the books, and the setting and basic idea are wonderful.
